a life changing vote
Sissy is one of many Americans who changed voting direction this year towards the unlikeliest of candidates – a man whose father was African (not American), whose middle name was Hussein and whose pastor was a raving lunatic.
“What changed my voting pattern was Barack Obama’s pledge to bring the troops home from Iraq – nothing else mattered,” says Sissy. “Unfortunately, many Americans who were similarly attracted to Obama have now changed their minds about him when it became known that a promise he made to his wife to quit smoking has been breached.”
“We have already been through 8 long and painful years with an unfocused reformed drinker and drug addict – do we really want to go through another 8 long and painful years with an unfocused reformed smoker?” asks Sissy. “I’m gobsmacked that anyone would seek public office as an opportunity to reform themselves, or have that bargain foisted upon them.”
“As I see it, Obama is a thinker, a visionary and a sensitive man of peace – that’s why he was attracted to tobacco in the first place, it’s not a substance used by violent, aggressive people,” explains Sissy. “He’d make a fine president and I just hate to think that his enemies will use his inevitable smoking lapses to discredit him and disrupt government in the same way that Bill Clinton’s enemies pulled him down with his sex addiction lapses.”
“Who can forget Bill and Hillary’s interview before his election, denying his dalliances?” laughs Sissy. “I’m sure he promised Hillary never to stray again, but then along came Monika and the lies and he was undone. If Obama ever lied about sneaking a cigarette, he’d be undone, too, and I cannot understand why he would put himself in this dangerous position when everyone knew he smoked and he didn’t have to quit.”
