Fergie’s Imaginary Friend

We all tend to invent an imaginary friend in times when we may not want to admit that it is ourselves we are talking about, and on the Oprah interview – intended to be a public apology, a coming clean – Rhoda was gobsmacked that Sarah Ferguson, aka Fergie the Duchess of York, dug herself deeper into her pit of moral and spiritual bankruptcy by saying that the cash down-payment for introducing a businessman to her ex husband, Prince Andrew, was for the benefit of a friend in need and not for her own personal benefit.

“Up until I saw the Oprah interview I was willing to give Fergie the benefit of the doubt,” says Rhoda, “but now I am absolutely convinced that she is either mentally ill, totally in la-la land, or a lying, scheming money-grubber – morally, spiritually and financially bankrupt.”

“Because Fergie spoke of herself in the third person, deliberately compartmentalizing herself into naughty Sarah and good Sarah, I am more inclined to believe that she is a liar and wants to give the impression of being a fruit-loop,” says Rhoda. “Her imaginary friend, the person for whom she debased herself in this money-grubbing scam, was no other than Sarah Ferguson herself!”

“I have often invented an imaginary friend when I did not want to admit that it was myself I was talking about,” confesses Rhoda, “but only in minor situations – such as ‘my friend told me you were at the party last night’ – and there is no way I would deliberately lie about something as serious as fraud, especially on an international television show.”

“Not only does Fergie invent imaginary friends for serious situations, but she also imagines that the people around her are loyal to a fault,” sighs Rhoda. “It is obvious that someone she trusted as a good friend set her up for the sting, and in view of the fact that she has so many creditors – people she owes money to – it is not difficult to imagine that her personal assistants/friends are being shortchanged, too, and one of them decided to expose her in a spectacular manner.”

“I also think that Fergie let Oprah Winfrey down badly by persisting in being a liar,” says Rhoda. “Oprah showed good faith and a good heart to give Fergie a spot on her show – believing the Duchess needed support and would truthful – but you didn’t need to be a mind reader to see that Oprah was not buying into the story Fergie was telling her.”

“Oprah asked her whether this was the first time she had tried to sell access to Prince Andrew or any one else for financial consideration, and Fergie faltered in her reply,” says Rhoda. “Part and parcel of being human, having friends and associates, is a ‘you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours’ agreement, and Fergie was so obviously lying when she vehemently denied ever engaging in such conduct.”

“After having dug herself deeper into her pit of moral and spiritual bankruptcy by actually agreeing to the Oprah interview without any intention of being truthful,” says Rhoda, “I think all of Fergie’s ‘friends’ from herein out will be imaginary!”

Sarah Ferguson’s Libran Balance

Libra is the sign of the scales, and it is an appropriate sunsign for Sarah Ferguson, aka Fergie the Duchess of York, born 15 October 1959, who has a great deal of trouble maintaining balance in her life, from her weight to her other appetites.

With Libra as the sunsign, governing the vital first house of appearance and ego – our public personas from which we are judged –Librans are more likely than the rest of us to be blessed with perfectly balanced facial features, bodies and egos – because of the influence of Venus – and Sarah definitely fits that bill most of the time, but needs to work hard at maintaining her natural balance.

In private, Virgo governs the twelth house of their inner selves. Librans tend to be very critical of themselves and because of the influence of Mercury are likely to keep a diary of their fears and failures, or seek counseling, but don’t generally beat up on themselves in private too much, for too long. Sarah is no suicide risk.

When it comes to money, with Scorpio governing their second house, Librans tend to be invincible and it’s an unwise person who comes between Sarah and her money because with the influence of Pluto there’s always a sting involved.

The charm of a Libran communicator is due to Sagittarius governing their third house. Under the influence of expansive and philosophical Jupiter, Librans tends to be fascinating communicators - almost Scheherazade like storytellers - but at the same time they can go overboard at times and suffer foot in mouth disease. Sarah chose her profession well. Children will love her free and easy style.

On the homefront, with Capricorn governing their fourth house, Librans are not fulfilled unless they live in a castle at the top of the hill, and under the influence of serious Saturn in this sector Sarah is unlikely to move out of the Royal Lodge.

As far as children and creativity are concerned, Aquarius under the influence of crazy Uranus makes the fifth house of Librans almost global. If Sarah’s children were not conceived or born overseas then her creative focus is definitely on the world stage.

The work and health aspect of Librans is governed by Pisces in the sixth house and influenced by watery, emotional Neptune. Sarah is probably not a steady worker or steadfast in her health regimes. She is motivated by pure emotion in work and health, and being close to water will be good for her.

When it comes to the seventh house of relationships and marriage, Librans are governed by me, me, me Aries and aggressive Mars. Sarah was probably very selfish in her marriage to Prince Andrew, demanding attention 24/7, and could be aggressive, too.

In the karmic eighth house of sex, life, birth, death and inheritance Librans are governed by Taurus and influenced by Venus. Sarah is likely to be very possessive, but quite fair in this part of her life. The giving of sex and life is closely tied to inheritance. Through her daughters, Sarah is guaranteed her due.

The ninth house of personal development and exploration is governed by Gemini and influenced by Mercury. Through communication and fast travel Librans often find their true selves, what they enjoy doing most. Sarah will tend to live in her head more than her body, and she needs constant stimulation, constant activity. She bores easily.

The worldly ambitions of Librans is found in the tenth house, governed by Cancer and influenced by the Moon. Libran ambitions are often centered on the mother figure, or female connections, and are incredibly emotional, waxing and waning. That Sarah’s ambition, first and foremost, was to be a mother, and then to ‘mother’ other children via her writing and charitable work, is not surprising.

Lastly, the eleventh house of friendships and associations exposes a great deal about Librans. Governed by Leo and influenced by the sun, Librans are notorious for basking in the reflected glory of influential and authoritative friends and associates. Sarah is like a moth, gravitating towards the limelight. Her social connections must be top-drawer, only the very best will do.

Fergie’s chutzpah survival

Anybody else would have crumpled in shame at being exposed to the world, by the News of the World, as a money-grubbing fraudster or liar, but Rhoda has to applaud Fergie (aka Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York) for her chutzpah, her ability to brazen out a bad situation, and considering that she’s already survived and thrived after the infamous toe-sucking incident while married to the Queen’s second son, she thinks that Fergie may actually have the intuitive ability to turn her present bad situation around to her own advantage.

“When she left London after the ‘sting’ she was reported as being devastated,” says Rhoda, “but at the Los Angeles presentation of an award for her services to the children’s charity, Variety, she flippantly brushed off the incident as some sort of stuffy old folks’ grievance against her – rather than the serious situation it was – and, basking in the adulation of fellow celebrities, earned Simon Cowell’s description of her as a ‘trouper’, someone who can rise above adversity.”

“I have a great deal of sympathy for Fergie because my circumstances are similar to hers,” confides Rhoda, “but her naïve attempt to sell access to her government employed ex-husband was actually fraud (if the Duke of York was complicit in the deal) or a lie (if he had no inkling of what she was doing), and in both instances her acceptance of a wad of cash for the deal could be seen as tax evasion.”

“The Duke of York has denied complicity,” says Rhoda, “so that makes Fergie a bare faced liar, doesn’t it?”

“Buoyed by the awards night of celebration, the Duchess then turned up in New York to do some shopping in preparation for an appearance at the Book Expo America conference, waved gaily for the photographers and again joked about her situation on camera while promoting her new series of ‘Helping Hand Books’ aimed at kids going through growing pains.”

“I have to laugh because in her situation I would have made excuses and gone into hiding, but then I have never indulged in toe-sucking with my financial advisor or money-grubbing with a shady sheik,” laughs Rhoda. “I guess when you are programmed to live on the edge like Fergie does you must also be programmed with survival skills like a very thick skin and a lot of chutzpah.”

what's next for Fergie?

Rhoda was surprised like everyone else when Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, was caught in the toe-sucking incident with her financial advisor John Bryan in 1992, just six years after she married Prince Andrew, but when the couple later divorced and remained good friends, living together leading separate lives, Rhoda began to understand that their marriage, like hers, was one of convenience and she expected Fergie to go on to accomplish great things – and her expectations were met, until the recent scandal exposed a Fergie so desperate for money that she’d sell out the royal family.

”It has been reported that Fergie has been living way beyond her means and has amassed huge debts – debts big enough for bankruptcy proceedings,” sighs Rhoda, “but I can’t believe that she was so desperate for cash that she’d get entangled with some shady sheik and not realize that it was a sting to discredit her, possibly leading to a criminal conviction.”

“What worries me most about her situation is the tax implications of the ‘cash for introductions’ scheme she was trying to pull off,” says Rhoda, “especially as she is now facing investigation after being caught on film accepting a large wad of cash.”

“Also, lots of people are left wondering whether this was the first time she had accepted cash for an introduction to Prince Andrew, whether she had declared the money to the tax authorities, and whether Prince Andrew was involved in the scheme or was an innocent participant,” explains Rhoda. “There is evidence that someone from her circle set her up for the News of the World sting, which indicates that that she had done it before and got away with it, presumably also without paying tax.”

“The implications for Prince Andrew are also bad,” explains Rhoda. “If he was involved in the scheme, knowingly using his government position as the United Kingdom's Special Representative for International Trade and Investment to give business favors in return for enriching his impoverished ex-wife, then that’s fraud and corruption.”

“Already the royal family is distancing itself from Fergie,” says Rhoda, “so there is no way Prince Andrew will take the rap, even if he deserves it, and this places Fergie in a precarious position.”

“If she has evidence of Prince Andrew’s involvement then she can bargain with the royal family to take the rap herself, absolving her ex-husband from guilt, in return for enough money to keep her in luxury for the rest of her life and a royal pardon,” explains Rhoda, “but if, indeed, it is her scheme and Prince Andrew is being used as a sap, then she may be out in the cold – permanently – and can trash the royal family as much as she likes, as others have done, but they will not be bothered by anything she says because she has exposed herself to the world as a greedy, shameless moneygrubber.”
